Food is a Knowledge in Paralives; it relates to culinary Skills. The only confirmed sub-skill currently documented under Food is Cooking, with Baking listed on the wiki as an unconfirmed future addition. Parafolks progress in Food Knowledge through cooking activities: when they prepare food, they progress in that Skill, and although a bit slower, in the Food Knowledge at the same time. Having the Food Talent allows faster progression.
The maximum level for each Skill is 20. As with all Paralives skills, the wiki notes that 'not all levels unlock something new just yet' — specific per-level unlocks remain undocumented while the game is in early development.
